Library Board

The Prince George Public Library is directed by a dedicated volunteer Board appointed by Prince George City Council. Key committees of the Board include: Communications and Marketing, Fund Development and Governance.

Meetings of the Prince George Public Library Board are held on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7:00pm. These meetings are open to the public.


Philip Mantler (Board Chair) Philip is the Library Board Chair and is a Certified General Accountant employed as an auditor for the Canada Revenue Agency. He serves on the Governance Committee as Chair, the Building Task Force as Chair, and ex-officio on all other committees. Philip also volunteers his time as the Secretary-Treasurer of the BC Library Trustees Association.

Shelley Stafford Shelley is a case manager with WorkSafeBC. She serves on the Communications & Advocacy Committee and the Nominations Committee.
Neil Godbout Neil is the News Editor at the Prince George Citizen newspaper. He serves as Chair of the Local History Committee and he serves on the Communications & Advocacy Committee.
Bal Sethi Bal is a retired teacher and former manager of a real estate company, and currently spends his time as a writer and watercolour painter. He serves on the Communications & Advocacy Committee and is the Board’s liaison to the Friend’s of the Prince George Public Library
Alan Idiens Alan is an economics instructor at the College of New Caledonia. He serves as Chair of the Fund Development Committee and he serves on the Nominations Committee.

Councillor Cameron Stolz Cameron is the City Council representative on the Library Board. He is a local business owner. Cameron serves on the Building Task Force and the Governance Committee.

Leslie Gilchrist Leslie is a Financial Advisor with a Certified Financial Planner designation. She is the owner of Gilchrist Financial Services. She serves on the Fund Development Committee.
