If you haven't already picked it up, I highly encourage you to read Cheryl Strayed's book, Wild: from lost to found on the Pacific Crest Trail. In it, she describes how as a 26-year-old greenhorn backpacker, Cheryl walked the better part of the trail - from the Mojave desert in California to the Oregon/Washington border - alone. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes sad and sometimes downright scary, Strayed's adventure will stay with the armchair traveller for some time.

The Red Cedar Book Award is British Columbia’s very own Young Reader’s Choice book award! This award targets grades 4 to 7 readers and encourages literacy through promoting Canadian literature!
