Read This Book!

If you haven't already picked it up, I highly encourage you to read Cheryl Strayed's book, Wild: from lost to found on the Pacific Crest Trail. In it, she describes how as a 26-year-old greenhorn backpacker, Cheryl walked the better part of the trail - from the Mojave desert in California to the Oregon/Washington border - alone. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes sad and sometimes downright scary, Strayed's adventure will stay with the armchair traveller for some time.

Read Wild and enjoy!

Excited to be the new Children's Librarian!

Hello Prince George Community!

My name is Kaitlyn Vardy, and I am the new Children's Librarian at the Prince George Public Library! I am very excited to be starting my librarian career at the Prince George Public Library, as this library is near and dear to my heart, as I have worked in Circulation and in the Children's department in the past. I am also happy to be starting my librarian career as a Children's Librarian, as my passion lies within offering children's programs that encourage and promote literacy and life long learning. I am looking forward to meeting many of Prince George's community members at future storytimes and other special children events at both of the library's branches and throughout the Prince George community.

See you in the library!
