Parenting Classes

Your First Job

A series of informative and helpful programs over the next four weeks to help you start your job search and start working with your best foot forward. Teenagers & parents only!

 

Week 1: A general discussion on resume styles, interview techniques, job searching tips, safety on the job and in the workforce.

 

Week 2: A hands on approach to resume writing and interview help workshops.

 

Week 3: "When To Say No" - work safety and knowing your rights as an employee. A useful session every teen, with a job or not, should attend.

 

Week 4: Another hands on session to help the search in finding jobs you can apply for. Staff will help and give you useful job hunting techniques you'll use for a lifetime.

Wanted: Teen Summer Volunteers

The Library is now recruiting teen volunteers for two upcoming summer programs!

Teen Tech Tutors: These teen volunteers are experts at everything to do with technology. From cell phones and digital cameras to iPads and laptops, Teen Tech Tutors are there to answer questions. They work one-on-one with adults and seniors who are looking for extra help with their tech gadgets.

Teen Summer Reading Buddy Volunteers: These teen volunteers help staff in the Children's Department run the popular summer reading programs. We are looking for teens who like working with children, especially as reading buddies!
